Every SHW machine features the expertise that we have gathered in 50 years of manufacturing universal milling heads. The SHW universal head/orthogonal head is standard on the machines in the UniForce series. This means you enjoy the many benefits of this head as standard.
The versatility of the head means that 64,800 different machining positions are possible. The milling head (A-axis) can be swiveled by 180°, the milling head holder (C-axis) by 360° (in degree increments).
Each position is automatically assumed and calculated in the NC program.

In every position of the head

• Friction and form connections ensure that the drive power is fully transferred and utilised
• Drilling and milling are possible
• Every available cycle can be machined
• Threads can be cut without an adapter chuck
• Positioning takes place using flat cogging rings with a pulling force of 13 t
• All power feed goes through the head
• The repeat accuracy is < 0.005 mm
